How the course runs

From first line to first tattoo

Our method follows the official tattoo training modules of Spain's Ministry of Labour, taught by artists who tattoo for a living.

The founder

40 years of ink, from Valencia to the world

Antonio Yepes started tattooing in 1984, when tattoo studios in Spain were almost unheard of. He co-owned Tatuarte Valencia, the first tattoo studio in Spain open to the public, and ran the international magazine Tattooarte for ten years.

In 2010 he founded EOMTP to give new artists the serious, safe start he never had. He still travels to meet the people who keep traditional tattooing alive, and brings what he learns back into the classroom. It's the heart of our tattoo history module.

Questions

Before you book

Do I need any experience or drawing skills?

No. The course starts from zero. Drawing helps, and we teach the drawing and design side of tattooing too. What matters is commitment.

Is the course taught in English?

Yes. The Benidorm intake is taught in English for UK, Irish and international students.

How long is the course and what are the hours?

Two intensive weeks of tattoo training, Monday to Saturday, 9:00–13:00 and 14:00–18:00, plus a 3-day hygienic-sanitary course. That's 96 + 21 hours.

How much does it cost and how do I pay?

The full course is £3,000. You secure your place with a £500 deposit, and the balance can be paid in one go or in instalments, settled by the week before the course starts.

Is the certificate valid in the UK?

You receive the EOMTP course certificate and the hygienic-sanitary certificate, approved in Spain and recognisable across Europe. In the UK, tattooists register with their local council, which sets its own requirements. Our team will talk you through it.

Where do I stay?

Benidorm has a huge choice of apartments and hotels within walking distance of the school. Ask us and we'll share options when you enquire.

How do I get there?

Fly into Alicante (ALC). Direct flights run from most UK and Irish airports, and Benidorm is around 45 minutes from the airport by bus or taxi.

What happens after I enquire?
